Ghosts

Written by Henrik Ibsen, 1881

A study of Ibsen’s Ghosts, a world where the sins of the past refuse to stay buried. In the lamplight, Mrs. Alving watches as Regina and Oswald drift dangerously close, haunted by truths they do not yet know. “I see ghosts,” she breathes — not of the dead, but of history repeating itself. Outside, the orphanage burns, and secret bargains are struck in the smoke. Reputations crumble in silence. As dawn breaks, Oswald stares into the dark, lost to the very legacy Mrs. Alving tried to escape. The sun will rise, but not for him.
