Designing Torte’s first physical space involved translating an established brand identity into a warm, functional environment. The space was thoughtfully divided into a café-patisserie, a restaurant with a dessert cocktail bar, and a private 10-seater dining experience. Throughout the design process, we worked closely with the client, evolving the layout through several iterations to balance operational needs with aesthetic goals.
Tiny details of the owner and chefs’ personal journeys were subtly woven into the space—table bases inspired by her beautifully crafted cakes, textures reminiscent of frosting, and even a recreation of her very first home kitchen, built directly into the structure. A service window into the kitchen not only improved workflow but also filled the space with the inviting aroma of baked goods. Careful coordination with vendors, contractors, and cost consultants ensured that every element honored the brand’s ethos while staying true to the client’s vision.
